So, my baby girl is finally 5!! I can't believe it. Where has time went? Kinlee was soooo excited to turn 5...don't know why but she was. She wanted an Ariel birthday party, so that is what she had!

Pumpkin Patch

Kinlee's class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch. I was able to take 1/2 day off and take Kyler. It was really windy, but overall a great trip. Here are some pictures from the day!

On October 17th, we celebrated Kyler's 2nd birthday. I can't believe it has already been 2 years since our little guy came into this world. We had a wonderful day with family. The weather was awesome, so we were able to spend most of the day outside. Kyler you are such a blessing to us. I love your funny personality that is already coming out. You love to watch any kind of sporting event that requires a ball. I love to hear you yell at Taylor games, as you cheer for whichever team scores! I am so excited about what God has in store for in the future! We love you so much buddy!

My dad, my sister, and Jayden took part in the Octoberfest parade this year. My dad and my sister work for a chain of grocery stores in southern Indiana. A Special Visit

The first of October my sister and her daughter Grace were able to visit with us from Seattle. It not very often that we get to see them. The kids and I headed down to Seymour to visit with them. We were able to get some much needed updated photos of them all together. So thankful that they were able to come and visit. We love and miss you guys!

Kinlee loved playing soccer this year! She was so sad to see it end. All she wanted to do was score a goal when it first started, and she did that. At the last game everyone got a medal, and she wore it for days. What a great experience.

Labor Day Parade

Yesterday was the BIG Upland Labor Day Parade. This year Kinlee's preschool rode in the parade. She thought it was the greatest thing ever. She has been asking all weekend when it was time for the parade. By the end she was all out of candy, and she had a blast. Kyler, on the other hand, could of cared less about the parade. He simply sat in a seat, and didn't bother to go after any candy. I think that may change in years to come.:)

Kiddie Kampus Take 2

Today was Kinlee's first day of preschool. She has been asking all summer, "mom when does preschool start again?" This year the big difference is the 4 yr old class is in the afternoon. Since we are still used to taking a nap, I know I said nap, this is going to come as another adjustment in our life! She had a great day today, and couldn't wait to get there to see all of her friends!

Kinlee's 1st Soccer Game

This is the first year that Kinlee can play soccer, so we decided to give it a try. She loves it! Today they had their first game, and all she wanted to do was score a goal. She didn't accomplish that, but we have 7 more games to try and make one.:) She loves her uniform, and couldn't be more excited that her team is Taylor University! So, today marks the end of summer at the Hackman house. August 16th EVERYTHING that we have left behind for 2 1/2 months is back. Every August I go through this sense of dread, hoping and wishing that the days of summer would stay with us forever. We are so blessed to both have jobs that allow us to be off all summer, and get to spend it with our children. But if only...
My kids and my husband are the most important things to me. This is a rough time for us all, we all jump into this together, but I know at the end of the school day I get to come home to MY WORLD. Two adorable, fun, loving, and yes at times trying kids and one amazing man that I am crazy in love with, how much better can it be. I struggle so much with this all...but I remind myself WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. So tomorrow, for the first time in awhile, as we all go our separate ways, it will be the hardest day of the year for the Hackmans.

Yesterday KC and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. But we had to wait until tonight to officially go out. KC took me to Eddie Merlot's in Ft. Wayne. We had a wonderful evening out, and had some AMAZING food.
KC, I am so thankful for you. You are an amazing husband, father, and most importantly my best friend. I thank God daily for you and the life that we have made together. I fall more and more in love with you everyday. Thanks for an amazing night out, and an amazing 9 years...I love you.

Jackson County Fair 2010

During our stay down at our parents we went to the famous Jackson County Fair. It was hot, but the kids had a blast. All Kinlee wanted to do was ride the Ferris Wheel, so her and I rode it. She LOVED it. I didn't know what she thought at first, but she couldn't stop laughing. We were the only ones on the ride, so that made it nice and long. :) It's always nice to run into people that you haven't seen for awhile. All in all it was a great time.

I love my family...I know I can't possibly wrap up such a beautiful week. I am so thankful that I got to spend it with them. The memories that we made this week will last a lifetime. I look so forward to this trip every two years, and I thank God daily for the amazing family I have. Who knows...Fripp Island may be the new spot!

Fripp Island-The Wildlife

The wildlife on the island is unreal. We saw crabs, deer, alligators, baby sharks, and plenty of birds. The deer will just walk right up to your golf cart for you to pet or feed. KC saw 4 alligators while golfing. The kids enjoy going on alligator hunts (probably wasn't the smartest thing to do).

Fripp Island-The Pools

There were 10 different pools on the island. The kiddie pool was a hit, since it had a big green frog slide in the middle of it. My favorite was the nice quiet adult pool!!!

Fripp Island-The Ocean

Every other summer my mom's side of the family takes a trip to Destin. We have been doing this for 12 years. With the oil leak in the gulf we were forced to find a new spot. We ended up on Fripp Island in South Carolina. We a a great time! Who knows this may be our new vacation spot! The beach was great. There was never a crowd, so the kids enjoyed all the room. As did the adults, as we got caught up in many wiffle ball games. I look forward every two years to this trip, and spending time together as a family.

On 4th of July we went to watch Jayden, our nephew, play baseball. It was smokin' hot, but it was great to get to see him play. He did a great job and they won 17-6. The ended up finishing second in the tournament. Way to go Jayden! We are proud of you.

This coming school year things will be different at Van Buren Elementary, one major thing is the name. It will now be Eastbrook North Elementary. We had a summer cleaning day last week, and we pitched a bunch of stuff!! We came across this puppet stage and it was going to the dumpster, so I brought it home. We have had so much fun watching the kids "perform", it cracks me up and provides plenty of entertainment!!

Holiday World 2010

We went to Holiday World with KC's family in between rain showers. We had a beautiful day. Kyler enjoyed his day with my family, as we chose to leave him back while we went. Kinlee was tall enough to ride one of the big water slides, and she loved it. We ended up riding it 2 times, and she would have ridden it more! Thanks guys for a great trip!

Everyday Kinlee asks if she can ride on the road. Our road is SOOOO busy :) so I always hesitate. I decided to let them both ride on the road FINALLY! Now everyday it's "Mom, Can we ride on the road?"

Kyler wants to ride Kinlee's bike all the time. Of course he can't pedal, but he loves for you to push him around. Kyler on something else that is PINK!

Rain, Rain and more Rain. Everyday it seemed like it rained. One night we were without power for over 5 hours, lost internet for 9 days (really annoying), and seemed like we were stuck in the house more than we should be in the summer! One day I decided to let the kids play in the rain, since it wasn't storming. They had a blast! Kyler didn't know what to think about it at first, but it didn't take him long to start splashing around.

I want to say it's just been a week, but I'd be lying...it's been a month. A crazy month, in which I have struggled everyday to just ENJOY life. My mind went from school, to the changes at school, and back to school. Each day more draining than the next. I'd came home exhausted, with no patience for the two precious little ones I was coming home to. All day it's Mrs. Hackman this and Mrs. Hackman that, and then mom, mom, mom, MOM! I was turning into a mom I didn't every want to be. Looking at the clock hoping that it was bed time...I am so thankful that today was the last day of school, so that I get to spend my days with my beautiful children. I am so blessed to work a job that I have the summer off, and I'm looking sooooo forward to it!
Look at my beautiful children...I love you Kinlee and Kyler. You are such a joy and blessing to your dad and me. We are so thankful for you, and are praying daily that you become the woman and man of God that He has called you to be. That you love God with all your heart, and you put Him first in all you do. We love you!!

Today we celebrated KC's birthday with an eight hour drive home from TN, dinner out, and a cake that Kinlee picked out from Coldstone Creamery! I can't tell you how excited Kinlee was all day that TODAY was daddy's birthday. I think she was more excited about the candles and the cake than anyone else. I have no pictures to show you of our celebration, since the camera is still not working. (hopefully it will be soon!)

KC, Happy Birthday! You are are an amazing father, husband, and best friend. I couldn't ask for anything more. I hope you enjoyed your day, glad we were with you to celebrate. I love you, babe!

Our Trip

The kids and I decided to tag along with KC to the National Championship Opening Round for baseball. It took us 8 hours to get to Cleveland, TN., with only 2 stops. The kids were awesome! We had a great trip, even though the outcomes of the games were not what we were hoping for, we had fun spending time together as a family. These are all the pictures I have, because I dropped my camera and it isn't working...so who knows when I'll blog again! KC is getting tired of buying me cameras! Thanks babe for letting us tag along. Couldn't think of a better way to spend a week, then with you guys!

These days you never know where you will find Kyler. He is everywhere and into everything. The other day I couldn't find him. I knew he was in the house (don't worry mom)but he wasn't answering me, which is also a new game he likes to play. So after searching every room, I finally find him in our shower in our bathroom. He didn't know I was there until the last picture and then he knew he had been caught!!

Today we went on Kinlee's first field trip, and my first as a parent versus a teacher! We went to the Muncie Children's Museum and Escapades. We had a blast! They all had so much fun, and were completely worn out when we arrived home.

Easter 2010

WOW! What a busy Easter weekend we had, but we were able to see both sides of the family (even though I didn't have my camera for KC's side of the family..SORRY). Originally the kids and I were going to go down on Saturday and go to my parents church for a egg hunt, and then head out to KC's parents house for dinner, then KC was going to join us on Easter Sunday. BUT since it is baseball season all things are subject to change. KC's game got canceled so he was able to go with us, which was great! We had a great time.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Zeebs

The Zeebs had a Easter Egg hunt on Good Friday at their home. There were tons of eggs and candy. The kids had a blast and Kinlee asked if we could hide eggs at Alexa's house again sometime soon! This was Kyler's first Easter Egg hunt,he found his first egg, opened it and never looked for another egg! They had a blast, thanks guys for opening up your yard! Look forward it to it next year.

Our Trip to the Aquarium

Last weekend was the last of my Spring Break, but the start of KC's so we took off! As stated in an earlier post my kids are obsessed with the fish at Meijer, so we thought what better time to take them to the Aquarium. We went down to the Newport Aquarium in Cincinnati, Ohio. We had a blast! I don't know if the mouths of my kids could have been any wider. They were in heaven. It was our first trip with both kids to stay in a hotel, but all in all they did very well. It was great to get away as a family without any interruptions...there were no papers to grade, no injured athletes to take care of...it was GREAT!

Spring Break started last Friday, so the kids and I went to my parents for a couple of days. We spent one day going to Bass Pro and to the Falls of Ohio. Kyler is obsessed with the fish at Meijer, so you can only imagine how he was here. The kids had a blast, and we were even able to watch them feed the fish in the big tank.

1st Baseball Game of the Year

Last week it was so nice, so after school the kids and I were able to go to the Taylor Baseball games. We packed supper, got to see KC, and of course the kids got to ride the Gator!! Sounds crazy...but they are playing baseball in March in Upland!

Kyler loves being outside and he loves balls. KC is hoping he loves baseball...not quite there yet! He did have Kinlee's pink baseball mitt on his hand!

Basketball has filled our house this weekend. Kinlee could care less, and often has asked "is it time to watch something else?" Is she really our daughter? :) So here she is playing with her baby, and often asking if I can watch her baby while she goes to work. Which makes me sad, since that is what I do everyday to her and Kyler...oh how I wish I could stay home! I love you baby girl, and no matter what you do as you get older I know I'll be proud!

A Beautiful Day in Upland

Today was a beautiful day, so after school the kids and I went outside to play. Kinlee and Kyler love to be outside. Kinlee loved riding her bike, and Kyler jumped right on Kinlee's old riding toy. He took right off! They had a blast, and I am so excited it is getting warmer out!

We celebrated Kinlee's 4th birthday with a Fancy Nancy party. She loves the Fancy Nancy books, and so her love for the books quickly turned into the theme for her party. We decided to let Kinlee invite 4 friends...WOW I had no idea how much that would stress me out. The girls didn't care, as long as they were together and playing. Mom's Day At Kiddie Kampus

It's been a long time since I have blogged, so I am going to go back in time and catch you up. Our house is full of energy these days, going from one thing to the next. Kyler is trying so hard to communicate with us, but we are still not always understanding what he wants. Kinlee turned 4 and with that has came a new found attitude! KC is officially done with basketball, and onto baseball. Things are changing in the Hackman house!
Now, on to this post. February 18th Kinlee had Mom's Day at preschool. It was so cute to see how excited she was for me to come to school with her. She kept saying, "mom you get to go to my school, not yours!" We had a blast. We played, enjoyed circle time, had a snack, listened to them sing, and did a craft together. Kinlee had pirate day at preschool last Thursday. For a week I kept asking if she was going to dress up like a pirate for pirate day. She kept on saying "NO, mommy that is only for boys!" Christmas Eve night starts out with dinner at my parents, then we head off to Christmas Eve service, followed by the reading of the Christmas story, and finally opening presents. The kids had a rough time sitting at Christmas Eve service they were so excited about opening presents. We had a wonderful evening, and two tired kids after it was all said and done. Kinlee was so excited to go shopping for KC for Christmas. It was so funny to see what she would pick out for him. She really wanted the gumball machine for herself, but she decided that her daddy would share with her, so she got it for him. She then wanted to get him a movie to watch. So, we went back to the movies and she picked out a Max and Ruby video. It was really hard to talk her out of it. We had people around us laughing. She kept saying, "daddy will love to watch it with me." We are celebrating Christmas at the Hackman house tomorrow, so we had to wrap his presents tonight. She had so much fun. KC was away today and he called to tell Kinlee goodnight, and when she got on the phone the first thing she said was "daddy I got you a movie for Christmas." She's great at keeping surprises!! :)

Kinlee was so excited this morning when she woke up and saw that it snowed. She couldn't wait to play in it. When I got home from school that was the first thing she asked me, so she got all bundled up and headed outside. She had so much fun in what little snow we had. Oh, the things that go on when KC is away... Saturday KC was gone with the basketball team to Spring Arbor. The kids and I ran to Muncie, took naps, and played in/with the couch cushions. KC can't stand it when Kinlee plays in them...what he doesn't know won't hurt him! :) Except the first thing Kinlee said to KC was, "Guess what we got to play with?"

Putting up/Taking Down the Christmas Tree

We had all intention of putting up the tree yesterday as we have in years past, but we didn't get there. So, this morning KC put up the tree and after school today Kinlee and I decorated it. As Kinlee would put something on the tree, Kyler would take something off. Boy this may be the year I wish I didn't put up a tree!! :)

Making Gingerbread Houses

On Friday night we decided to make gingerbread houses with my mom, dad, sister and her two kids Jayden and Journee. The kids (and adults) had so much fun. I think there was a little competition between the adults to see who could make the best gingerbread house. I think next year we better get our own!

Today my little boy turned one! Wow, where has time went. It seems like yesterday that Kyler joined our family. We had Kyler's party last weekend due to Homecoming here at Taylor. He had a great birthday. The first two pictures were taken today on his birthday, the other pictures are from his party last weekend. We love you Kyler. You are such a joy and a blessing to us. I love how you are trying to figure out how to walk, and how quick you can get to something you know you aren't suppose to. I can't wait to see what God has in store for your life. Kyler took his first steps last night. Thank goodness KC and I were both home to see it. He took two steps walking from me to KC. Octoberfest

While in Seymour the kids and I went to the BIG Octoberfest. It was a lot of fun, well besides seeing those from high school that you really don't want to see!! Kinlee had so much fun riding the rides, playing the fishy game, and eating donuts. We had a great time, and looking forward to next year.

On Friday night Kinlee went down the big slide with Journee and Cory, and she loved it. Well, on Saturday she wanted to go down the slide again. This time when she got down to the bottom she was scared to death. What we didn't realize was that Cory was holding on to Kinlee's sack when she went with him. When she went by herself she went so fast...I felt so bad, and by the way she NEVER wants to go down a big slide again.

On Saturday night we had a little birthday party for my mom. My sister made the cake, which she did an awesome job on it. The kids were so worried about her having a cake, making sure she had balloons, and presents. It was so cute. All Kyler cared about was sticking his hand in the cake, as you can see in all the pictures. Can't wait to see what he does with his cake next month! Glad we could spend your birthday with you Nana. We love you so much!!

A Visit to Seymour

The kids and I made a trip to Seymour this weekend for my mom's birthday. On Saturday my grandmother, my aunt, and cousins came up to see the kids, and have lunch for my mom's birthday. We had a great visit. My grandmother is all about taking pictures, so here is what we got!!!

Since Kinlee has been going to preschool, she is really into playing like she is at school. Tuesday Kinlee made me sit on the floor and she acted like the teacher(Mrs. Fox). She would point at a letter and ask me what the letter was, I would tell her, then she would say good job mommy! A girl after my own heart! I love playing school!

Today we went down to the Labor Day Parade in Upland. It wasn't the prettiest day, but the kids enjoyed the parade. And lets just say we came home with more than enough candy.

Tonight after supper we went outside, since it was a beautiful evening. Kinlee got a trampoline for her birthday, which she hasn't been on much. We decided to put Kyler on it and of course she wanted on too!!! This was Kyler's first experience on the trampoline. He loved it if KC was holding him, but thought he could crawl on it and wiped out every time. It was kinda funny! Kinlee loved to jump so that Kyler would fall over...isn't she sweet! :)

Kinlee has been waiting for this day to come all summer...on the other hand mom and dad not so much! She was so excited last night that tomorrow was finally the day. First, she had to make sure that Kyler was not staying with her. I took the morning off so that I could take her...she acted so big. After a few minutes she looked at KC and I and said, "you can go now." I thought I would start crying then. People tell you to cherish the moment because it goes so fast...I'm beginning to see what they mean.

Kyler can now get anywhere he wants to be. He loves to get to Kinlee and mess up whatever she is playing with at the time. He got stuck here in between the speaker, the Elmo couch, and a chair. I don't know where time has went...my little boy is 10 months old. He is growing so fast. He can now officially get anywhere he wants to be. He loves to crawl after balls, and Kinlee. Popcorn Festival

Last Saturday was KC's last Saturday off until probably June, so we took the kids to the Popcorn Festival in Van Buren. All Kinlee wanted to do was ride the Ferris Wheel. So she got her wish, and loved every minute of it.

So, while I went back to work this week, Kyler decided that he would crawl. Yes, you know it...I MISS IT! I can't believe it. KC, the thoughtful husband he is, caught it on his cell phone and sent it to me at school. It was hard to watch, but I made it through it (just a few tears where shed). He is now officially crawling everywhere, which is so different for us. Kinlee never moved like that! It has been a rough week at the Hackman house, and I'm so thankful for the weekend.

New things...

This week marks the beginning of new things in our house. Kyler is moving around these days and trying so hard to pull himself up to things. He loves to crawl backwards and get under tables and chairs!! Another new thing is that tomorrow I start back to work :( I have been off work since I gave birth to Kyler, and I am so sad that I have to go back. I have enjoyed my time at home with the two of them, and I will miss them as I am at school. Please keep us in your prayers as things change around here. I know that GOD IS IN CONTROL and NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH HIM! As long as I know that we can handle anything.

Happy Anniversary

I know I always post about my kids, but tonight I thought I would change it up a bit. Today KC and I celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary. I can't believe it has been 8 years!!! I am so thankful for KC and I love him more each day. He is a wonderful husband, father, and best friend. Thanks for all you do for our family. You are amazing....I look forward to many more years. I love you, babe!

Jackson County Fair

We were able to go to the Jackson County Fair twice while we were down south. We went on Sunday with KC's family to eat and ride the Merry Go Round. Then on Wednesday I took the kids with my mom and sister for Kiddies' Day. We enjoyed good food and Kinlee loved riding the rides.
